Now that we know how dangerous Excidian has become, let’s see how threatening Desideris now is.
Desideris is currently a level 9, making him Delitor’s equal. While politically he isn’t quite as important as Delitor, he is nonetheless rising in significance. Discontent Nemorians from both Delitor’s ranks, and the Central Alliance, are flocking to Desideris’s side. There is also the matter that Desideris was Severus’s heir, so he has a strong claim to Nemoria, regardless of what anyone else says. Desideris has his own army which has been with him since his defeat in the Battle of Laeta. While it isn’t as big as Delitor’s, it’s arguably more loyal. Emma and Vivianna have become close allies of Desideris as well. If he chose, he could probably take back Nemoria in a matter of months.
Desideris continues to improve as a warrior too. He has squared off against Delitor, his equal as a fighter. While he doesn’t always win these duels, Desideris does benefit from the confrontations, for he learns from them. Desideris is also in a better mental state than he was before. Having reconciled with Vivianna, and he now has a purpose to live for other than seeking revenge against Delitor. In some ways, Desideris’s life is actually looking better than Delitor’s.
