Why is Emma a level 5.5? There are a few reasons. Level 5 is the average for a Temporan, so for all intents and purposes, she should be lower than that. She has had no training after all. But her potential is so high, actually equal to Delitor’s, that she can pull off some amazing feats despite her inexperience. Her inexperience also makes her Temporan power rather volatile since she doesn’t know just how much she is capable of. It’s not that she wants to hurt people, at least most of the time. But she can’t control her Temporan power very well because she didn’t know she even had it until recently. Politically, she isn’t that important yet, and she is no soldier either. But she is smart, and she is more observant than most. In the beginning of the story, she can be easily defeated, but when she is very scared or very angry, she can beat people who are a bigger threat than herself.
