When I wrote Delitor, I intended that he be a complex character, who though he had his good points, also had plenty of bad ones. At times he can be kind, generous, and brave, but at others he is cruel, arrogant, and despotic. So he is in a definite grey area when it comes to the hero/villain dichotomy. In my opinion he falls more into the antihero and anti-villain categories. But the question is, which is he? I think a case could be made that Delitor is a villain since he and Emma come into conflict so much, albeit a villain with redeeming qualities. But another case could be made that he is a flawed hero, since his POV takes up about half of each book that I have published so far, and it would be strange for the reader to spend so much time in his head if he was a villain. I personally like to think he is in a morally ambiguous state that hasn’t been resolved yet. That doesn’t really help in answering the question. Frankly, I’m not sure whether he is currently an antihero or anti-villain. But what do you think? Let me know below!
