I’m starting a series of posts about each of the Temporan Houses featured in The Temporan Chronicles. It will cover basic information such as their powers, place of residence, and character traits, but will also feature other information not spelled out in the glossaries. I’m beginning with House Imberia since it is the most heavily featured in the series.
Name: House Imberia
Base of operations: the nation of Imberia, specifically the capital Attonita, and Imberian Castle
Color: purple
Symbols: the hourglass, storm clouds, lightning
Founder: Peter Imberian
Important Members: Confisior Imberian, Arcor Imberian, Delitor
Special power: the ability to see a person’s entire past with little difficulty. While this is not as straightforward an advantage as being able to see easily aspects of the future, it does allow the Imberians to predict the actions of others with great accuracy. As such, it is difficult to surprise them.
Personality: the Imberians are all intelligent and charismatic. They can charm pretty much anyone into liking them, while also learning what makes them tick. Few can escape their powers of observation. But they are subject to strong emotions, and become highly attached to those they care about, though they don’t always show it. The Imberians are probably the most balanced of all the houses when it comes to logic and feelings.
Strengths: leadership, the Imberians combine political acumen with fighting prowess. If Tempora were ever to be united under one ruler, many believe that ruler will be an Imberian. Loyalty is another of their strengths. They will support their friends no matter the cost to them. The only way to break an Imberian’s allegiance is to betray them.
Weaknesses: pride, the Imberians are already inclined to think a little too well of themselves. Add to that the admiration they receive due to their strengths, and many members of the house have been overcome due to their own egos.
Occupations: politician, military commander, and any leadership position in a field they have talent in.
Hobbies: reading, speaking, participating in tournaments, going on adventures, attending parties, basically anything that allows them to study the character of others and win their admiration.
So that is House Imberia. Can you think of any other information I missed? Comment about it below.
