At the Fantastic General Store, we have Black Friday like most other retailers. But to me at least, the whole concept of Black Friday seems like a bad idea. In theory, the stores have one day to get back into solvency. Whether that tale is true or not, I don’t know. But I can confirm a lot of time and effort is put into Black Friday by retail workers. But what if bad weather keeps everyone inside that day? The Snow Queen does catch colds on occasion, and her powers can go wild when she sneezes. Ever been to a lava planet? Those volcanoes aren’t as easy to predict as futuristic scientists like us to think they are. It just seems to me that putting all your eggs in one basket, or all your good sales on one day, is a recipe for disaster. Retail workers don’t like it either. None of us want to wake up at some ridiculous hour of the morning, drive in questionable weather, and then deal with sale crazed customers. So maybe spread out the sales over a couple of weeks, so one bad snow storm doesn’t wipe out your profits.
