The Fantastic General Store: Gaps in the Schedule

Posted on July 14, 2026July 9, 2026 by admin

At the Fantastic General Store, sometimes making the schedules is harder than initially appears. For example, if you have very little staff at a store, you need to figure out how to schedule for adequate coverage at all times, while still having enough employees to wait on customers during peak hours. Even Prince Charming gets impatient if he has to wait too long for someone to sell him a big screen TV. Having a lot of employees means you need to juggle leave and preferred hours for multiple people. From what I’ve heard, the dwarves Snow White is friends with, have a spreadsheet, that they use to keep track of who can work when, and who can’t. Sometimes certain things slip through the cracks until the day they are noticeable. Had only a cashier and a manager to close the store because somebody called off or quit? Yep, I’ve seen that. Had people scheduled to come in before a manager was there to open the building? Yep, seen that too. Had nearly everyone call off for a day due to sickness so there were only two or three people to run the store the entire day? Thankfully no, but I’ve heard about it. My point, make sure schedules actually work before you post them, or you will have grumpy employees, grumpy customers, and a big mess to deal with.
