At the Fantastic General Store, we have to receiving stock into our system like other stores do. We need accurate counts for ordering purposes and tax purposes. Noble knights and villainous hordes don’t march on their own. They need tax revenue to get paid, and they need to be supplied by us so they can go do their jobs. But receiving can pile up real quick if it’s not taken care of on a regular basis. This isn’t a good thing, as product that hasn’t been received sits in the back where customers won’t purchase it. When the whole point of your facility is to sell stuff, you need to get that stuff on the sales floor as fast as you possibly. My point, receivers and stockers are the unsung heroes of the retail world. You may not see them, but they are a major reason you can purchase Sleeping Beauty’s sleep tonic and Cinderella’s formal shoes.
