At the Fantastic General Store, sometimes employees have to try new things, like learning a new program on the computer, or using a new tool. Teleporters aren’t the most intuitive machines to use, and you have to hit just the right pitch to get rodents to help with the cleaning. In these situations, the employee needs support from either management, or other staff, to learn the new skill. Management should ensure employees have what they need to learn how to use new tools properly. Otherwise, learning as you go doesn’t always yield the best results. It’s even worse when management then blames the employee for bad results, even though the employee hasn’t been properly trained. So managers, make sure your employees have actually been trained and understand what they need to do, before you start trying to get them in trouble. Otherwise, your turnover will be high and deservedly so.
